The only Tornadowood from N.H.
The great New Hampshire Tornado of 2008 created more than just tree damage and confusion on July 24th, 2008 in Pittsfield, NH. It started just like any other day for Dan Schroth and his crew. They were on their way out to finish a stone wall job when an ommious green/black cloud made it’s way toward Tilton Hill. Things were not “usual” in the quiet Pittsfield countryside that day. About 12 noon the violent Micro-burst storm headed right for Dan’s place on Tilton Hill. Luckily Dan and his wife Nancy were not at home. The Tornado hit with such force that it sheered the big pines off about 20 feet up on all the trunks. It was just as if someone had taken a rotary mower to the trees. A turbulent and violent storm the likes of which we have never seen before in New Hampshire.
